About Us
Throughout history, communities thrive when they are united with a common purpose. When the people are one, whatever they set their hearts on shall come to pass or achieved. Some Ghanaian associations in the United Kingdom are doing well due to good leadership and the believe in building a united community. Northamptonshire in the past had tried to bring the community together in different ways but had not yet succeeded and GRAIN believes with dedication and commitment of it’s members, this can be achieved.
In August 2017, through the joint efforts of Mr Emmanuel Odame-Asante, Richard Amponsah and Eddie Amissah, GRAIN was launched by having a BBQ at Wicksteed park which was well participated by the Ghanaian friends and family from the whole county. The purposes of the association are still being carried out and we hope in due course the whole Ghanaian community in the county shall stand strong and united so that we can explore all the opportunities available to us as the diaspora in the county.

A few words about GRAIN
The Ghanaian Residents Association In Northants (GRAIN) was set up to pursue these two main objectives:
1. Bring all the Ghanaian residents in the Northamptonshire county together. As the community is made up of Ghanaians from different tribal back grounds, religious and political beliefs, the association aims to stand a neutral ground. The qualifying or unifying factor shall always be our Ghanaian heritage.
2. Support each other. As a member of the association, you are now part of the family. We shall always stand by you in times of sorrow and joy. As the Association will be working with the relevant government agencies and the local authorities, we shall offer guidance as to which agencies to contact when the need arises.
